I've enjoyed playing Halo on the PC far more than I ever did on the Xbox, and the inclusion of Internet multiplayer with new levels and modes is a huge addition. We've now played through the final version of Halo for the PC, and while the levels remain unchanged, I feel stronger than ever that this is the way Halo was meant to be played. When I reviewed the Xbox version in late 2001, I couldn't shake the nagging feeling there was still lots of room for improvement, whether it was due to the gamepad controls (which at the time used the monstrous Xbox controller), the lack of Internet play, or the inconsistent and often repetitive level design - three things that we'd seen done better in any number of PC shooters. IF YOU READ our " 25 Most Overrated Games Of All Time" feature a few weeks ago, you know that many of us at GameSpy HQ felt Halo - while a great game - wasn't quite as perfect as other critics made it out to be.
